no more ogre upstairs, no more stolen plates, no more ghetto!!!

so, i moved this weekend... everything went smoothly... and super fast too... i'm pretty much unpacked and organized as well... that's a nice feeling... saturday night (my first in the new place) i was totally wiggin' out... there was so much organizing and unpacking to do... and everything was a mess... and for me, trying to go to sleep when things aren't "just so" is super hard... so, i had a little breakdown (mucho thanks to my hero for being understanding and all!!!) and then i felt a little better... at least enough to go to sleep... but all in all, i'm glad i moved... i feel safter already... and i think i'm gonna enjoy living there...

my visit with chris this weekend seemed too short... when he left, i had this feeling of not having enough time with him... like i didn't kiss him enough... or hug him enough... or tell him i love him enough... but, hopefully, i'll be able to see him in 3 weeks... and maybe we'll just have some princess and hero time... yeah...

work last week was extra boring... i got a lot of studying for the GRE done, though... this week looks like it will be much of the same... except with my new schedule, i have friday off!!! go me!!!

well, i'm off to dream about my 4 day work-week... hope everyone had a good easter!!!

spring is coming... so i finally washed my car...

so, yesterday was the first thunderstorm of the year... a sure sign of spring... it made me happy... hopefully that means no more snow... no more yucky salt mix on the streets (that sticks to your car)... it's time for birds chirping and lawn mowing... and the smell of dew in the mornings... i *heart* spring...

this past weekend i went to visit my family... it was a good time... very relaxing... nothing too interesting happened... i saw a couple of ppl i used to be friends with... they didn't see me (or if they did, they didn't say anything... of course, neither did i)... one of these days when i see them out, i'm gonna say "hi"... but i just wasn't up to it this weekend... i want to totally blow them away with the events of my life when i do speak to them... ya know, one of those "my life totally rocks!" sort of thing... not that it doesn't rock now... it does, i just want to get a few more things in order before it "totally rocks!" and i looked pretty shabby when i saw both of them... like i said, it was a relaxing weekend home, i wasn't there to impress anyone... so no makeup and baggy clothes was the attire for the weekend...

i did see a gal i used to work with at CT Farm & Country... i was at TSC buying a rabbit hutch for my bunny when she came in... we exchanged "hello's" and other nicities... and she asked if i had gotten another rabbit... when i told her it was the same one i had years ago when i worked at CT, she was impressed... she's engaged now... not just now, but again... and when i say again, i mean she has married and divorced and is engaged again since we worked together... that was only 5 years ago... wow... she's a sweet gal, nonetheless...

and now my bunny is with me in maryland... he's still getting used to his new hutch and surroundings... i think he misses being outside... but since i can't have pets at my apartment, i can't risk taking him outside... especially since he'd be in a new place, he might get scared and run off... and in a week, he'll be in NC with christopher, and be able to hop around outside a lot...

i'm almost ready for my move... still have quite a bit of packing to do, but everything left is stuff i need for this week... so friday night i'll be really workin' to get everything ready for saturday... i'm excited, though... the place is really nice, and so is the lady who i'll be living with... and her dog... he's HUGE... i think i'll enjoy having animals around again... yeah...

well, we have no projects to work on right now... so work is going to be relaxing (or maybe boring) for a couple of days... but it is a welcome break after having two major projects at the same time... so, i'm off to roam around the office for a while... maybe someone had a super exciting weekend...

still waaaaay too relaxed...

ahhh... how nice vacation was... can i go back now??? even though it was rainy and kinda cold in FL, i still had a great time... and the weather was perfect for the drive between FL and NC, and super great while in NC... chris's new house is nice too... a little older than his FL house, but still nice and roomy... and not in the ghetto... it has been princess approved, so i feel safe visiting him... and the neighbors seemed friendly as well... *sigh* it makes me want a house...

today, the salvation army is coming to pick up my sofa... so i only have to work a half day... good thing too, because i was not ready to be back here... we have a lot of work to do, and when i'm motivated, i can get it done super fast... but on days like today, when i just keep thinking about my nice weekend, and lounging around, and just relaxing and being a goofball, there's no way i'm going to get much work done...

it's also snowing (or something) outside right now... a wintery mix... when i went to bed last night, it was still 65 degrees here (super nice for March) and when i woke up, it was 52... now, it's 33... quite a drop in the temp. in just a few short hours... i'm ready for spring... this cold stuff is CRAP!

hmmm... anything else going on that i can distract myself by talking about? not really...oh well, guess that means i should try to do some work, and not be a total slap... just hope the next 2 hours go by fast...

the nerve of some people...

the war is on... my neighbor above me has pissed me off something bad this time... i can over look his loud music, and thumping around like he's an elephant... i can ignore his being rude to everyone in the common hall... i can even excuse his stepping in front of my moving vehicle (but really, who sees someone turning into a parking lot, knowing they're doing their best to avoid oncoming traffic, and steps in front of them anyway?)... but messing with my laundry is the last straw... *note* this is kinda long...

so, this weekend, i was happily doing my laundry (it's kind of relaxing for me)... one load (load A) was in the dryer, and another load (load B) had just finished in the washer (because you know, the washing machine is always done before the dryer)... anyway, my apartment is located such that i can hear the status of the machines in the laundry room... so i heard the washer click off, and knew i had about 20 more minutes till i needed to go down to take A out of the dryer, put in B, and start a new load (load C)... all of the sudden, i heard this calamity out in the hall... thinking someone had fallen down the steps, i rushed to my door and looked out my peephole... well, i see elephant dude tromping around and on down in to the laundry room... no big deal, i think, he'll see that i'm doing laundry, and wait patiently like most normal people... so, after a while, i hear the dryer stop running... taking load C to the laundry room with me, i discover that sasquach has removed my clothes from the washer (B) and placed them on the dryer so he could wash a load of clothes... not something i would have done, but hey, no big deal... so i go ahead and put B in the dryer, noting the amount of time dude upstairs has left on the washer... i happily go back to my apartment fold the finished load, and wait for the washer to turn off... 5 minutes after the washer was finished, ogre hasn't gone down to collect/remove his clothes (perhaps he was waiting on the dryer to finish, exactly what i was doing with the load he removed for me)... so, unlike what i would normally do, i took his clothes out and placed them on the dryer, just as he had done with mine... and started washing load C... at this point, the washer and dryer have exactly the same amount of time on them... so i go on about my business for the next 20 or so minutes, and 3 minutes before the loads are to be done, i venture back to the laundry room, with load D... muscleheads clothes are still as i left them, and no sign (or sound) of him being there to check on them... so, i remove B from the dryer, put in C, and start washing D... when the washer for D cut off, i went back to the laundry room, and instead of waiting the extra 20 minutes on C to finish in the dryer, i thought i would be nice, and combine C and D in the dryer, and only add 10 minutes (instead of a full 40) so that the dryer would be open sooner... all in all saving 30 minutes... about 5 minutes before the dryer is scheduled to turn off, i start gathering my stuff to go collect my laundry, when i hear dude upstairs thundering down the steps... again, i look out my peephole (because i'm nosy) and watch him enter the laundry room... a few minutes later he emerges and stops by my door, kind of like a hesitation, but he smirked and went on... when i heard him in his apartment, i went to the laundry room to retrieve my final loads... when what do i see?? they've been removed from the dryer and placed on the floor!!! what the...??? and the time on the dryer reads 47 minutes (knowing that when you put your money in it only comes to 44 minutes and knowing that i should have still had a few minutes left on my time drying) i realize he's taken my clothes out of the dryer, before they were finished and put his stuff in!!! can you believe the nerve of some people??? who does this, really??? it wasn't his place to decide that my clothes were done... had the drying cycle been finished, and my clothes just sitting there, i might have understood, but stealing my drying time, and touching my clothes??? that's unspeakable... even now recounting the story, it makes my blood boil... and it was pretty risky on his part... there are a number of things i could have done to his clothes, but i didn't... but i'm tempted... i still have to live there for a month... and i don't want to do anything to piss him off and make him retaliate... he just better hope i'm cooled down about this by the time i move out... very grrr...

so yeah... that was my weekend...

yesterday, i had a pedicure... it was really nice... and now my feet are sandal ready, and ready for the BEACH!!! i can hardly wait till tomorrow... yay for finally getting to see chris!!! and the BEACH!!! and drink "slushee" drinks... yeah... *sigh* i'm ready to escape the snow...

i *heart* the internet and cable TV

okay... so to economize and cut back a little bit, i decided i could give up my 170 channel cable TV and my internet at my apartment... i was doing pretty good with it till this weekend... ugh... the longest weekend ever... actually, even though my cable was "turned off" i still had internet access until i turned in my digital box and modem on saturday... this next month is going to be long... thank goodness i have a vacation in the middle... and stuff planned for the other weekends... i didn't realize how addicting the internet had become... i wasn't feeling very well this morning (kind of a sore throat... not too bad, but a little irritating anyway) and decided that i needed to come to work so i could check my email and read the online news and peruse craigslist... i'm horrible... i know...

also at work today, we got a few new ppl... they've worked at my company for 25+ years, and on friday was told that they funding for the project they were working on had ran out... and to pack up their desks and report to the office where i work on monday morning... that's kinda sad... you can tell they don't want to be here... the type of work we do is totally different from anything they've ever done... i'm sure i'd be confused and angry too if the job i'd had for many many years was suddenly tossed aside with little to no explanation... *sigh*... but one of them has a daughter who is in NFO training at Pensacola... she's learning the same things chris did, except for the navy... pretty cool...

now that i'm through surfing the internet, i'm ready to go home... *sigh* only 3 more hours...
